PAINTINGS ON CUT PAPER 2011-2012
These images were created from original drawings of handmade argyle sock toys, which are collaged and manipulated, cut up and reassembled. By combining the elements and re-drawing them over repeatedly, the image is disassembled and perceived anew. The final images are painted with oil on cutout shaped pieces of heavy gesso paper, using a collage technique to integrate the separately painted elements into the final piece.
